Instructions

Marinate the Chicken

  1. In a large bowl, combine all marinade ingredients and mix well
  2. Add chicken pieces and coat thoroughly
  3. Cover and refrigerate for 4-6 hours or overnight

Cook the Chicken

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C)
  2. Place marinated chicken pieces on a lined baking sheet
  3. Bake for 15-20 minutes until slightly charred on the edges

Prepare the Sauce

  1. Heat oil and butter in a large pan over medium heat
  2. Add onions and sauté until golden brown (about 8-10 minutes)
  3. Add garlic, ginger, and green chilies, cook for 2 minutes
  4. Add all ground spices and cook for another minute
  5. Add crushed tomatoes and simmer for 15-20 minutes until sauce thickens

Finish the Dish

  1. Add the cooked chicken pieces to the sauce
  2. Pour in the heavy cream and simmer for 5-10 minutes
  3. Adjust salt to taste
  4. Garnish with fresh cilantro

Prepare the Rice

  1. Rinse basmati rice until water runs clear
  2. Cook according to package instructions
  3. Keep warm until ready to serve
