Instructions
Marinate the Chicken
- In a large bowl, combine all marinade ingredients and mix well
- Add chicken pieces and coat thoroughly
- Cover and refrigerate for 4-6 hours or overnight
Cook the Chicken
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C)
- Place marinated chicken pieces on a lined baking sheet
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until slightly charred on the edges
Prepare the Sauce
- Heat oil and butter in a large pan over medium heat
- Add onions and sauté until golden brown (about 8-10 minutes)
- Add garlic, ginger, and green chilies, cook for 2 minutes
- Add all ground spices and cook for another minute
- Add crushed tomatoes and simmer for 15-20 minutes until sauce thickens
Finish the Dish
- Add the cooked chicken pieces to the sauce
- Pour in the heavy cream and simmer for 5-10 minutes
- Adjust salt to taste
- Garnish with fresh cilantro
Prepare the Rice
- Rinse basmati rice until water runs clear
- Cook according to package instructions
- Keep warm until ready to serve
